Adiabatic Cooler

The 3C JACIR - MULLER adiabatic cooler is a heat exchanger. The calories are rejected to the atmosphere, in dry mode. As soon as the ambient temperature reaches some point, this heat exchanger uses water evaporation characteristics. So, in full bacteriological safety and without water treatment, calories are dissipated, cooling the fluid at a temperature lower than the ambient temperature. This adiabatic cooler is a combination of a dry cooler with an adiabatic pre cooling section : this pre cooling section lowers ambient air temperature by evaporating water on pads, specially designed for this purpose.

  • Dry mode :
    • The fluid is cooled in the dry tube coil, thanks to the ambient air flow. The air is pulled by fans. The humidifying pads located at the air inlets are dry.
    • The fans are controlled according to the heat load, in order to keep constant the fluid outlet temperature.
    • The air is then evacuated upwards.
  • Adiabatic mode :
    • When the cooling in dry mode is not efficient enough, the pads are humidified.
    • The ambient air is cooled by evaporation when crossing the pads.
    • This pre cooled air enter then in contact with the tube coils, and cools the fluid.
    • The water which has not been evaporated on the pads is collected in a stainless steel collector, then flows to sewer. As an option, it can be recirculated and is used with the water make up to be distributed on the pads. The water saving is then significant, without any water treatment and Legionella risk.
